The Big Morning Tea at PD

May 23rd, 2013

Painted Dog took part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, a Cancer Council charity event that raises money for anti-cancer research. The more culinary-bent in the office all provided plates filled with some absolutely delicious treats – everyone is now stuffed! Here’s just a few pictures of what was on offer:

Smoked Salmon Blinis

Rocky Road

Pork Sausage Rolls

Portugese Custard Tarts

Vanilla and Lemon Curd Cupcakes (with a lemon curd centre!)

Chocolate Cake

Onion and Feta Tarts

Lemon Curd Friands

We felt the need to eat one (or two, sometimes three) of everything just to try it. So full!

Congratulations Matt S!

April 22nd, 2013

A big congratulations to Matt S. who is the winner of the 2012 RAC Prize for the Best Graduating Student within the Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) (Honours) degree at Curtin University.

It’s a big achievement and one that shows the amount of hard work he put in to complete his Honours. Well done Matt!

Now With Added Fish

April 9th, 2013

Following the decimation last month, we’ve restocked the fish tank with actual fish! And they’ve survived for a week!

It's a fish tank, now with fish in it! What a concept!

We’re not going to get too enthusiastic just yet, but it’s certainly a step up on where we were (in fish terms) recently.

It’s Just A Tank Now

March 20th, 2013

For Christmas, we gave Justin, Claudia and Chris a fish each as a present. It seemed like a good gift for them and for the office – fish aren’t that hard to take care of, right?

It’s safe to say that we haven’t been too successful in managing those goldfish.

An empty fish tank.

See if you can find the fish…

A Trip to the Zoo

March 8th, 2013

Painted Dog had an office trip out to the Perth Zoo last week, where we went to see the Painted Dogs (naturally!) as well as the other animals. It was a pretty warm day, so we understand why most animals were lying down and having a rest!

We also had a bit of a rest for a while out of the sun, but overall it was a great and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Introducing… Kristy & Matt!

February 18th, 2013

You may have already met some of these new Painted Dogs, but in case you haven’t…

Kristy has joined us from the RAC. She’s very quickly become a strong part of the team as an Account Manager and has been involved in several key proposal wins.

Kristy's photo

Matt has joined us as an Account Executive having just completed First Class Honours at Curtin University. He doesn’t normally look like the photo – he took part in the Colour Run on the weekend!

Matt Stephen, all coloured up.

Everyone say hi to Kristy and Matt!

Everyone, Back To Work!

January 29th, 2013

Is it just me or does the Xmas / New Year holidays seem a very long, long time ago?

BAH HUMBUG is spelt out onto the window in Post-It notes; it also casts a shadow on the wall.

AMSRS 2012 WA End of Year Networking Party

December 16th, 2012

It’s that time of the year! This week saw the AMSRS End of Year Networking Party take place, with Garreth, Sally and Huw heading down to Frisk! Bar to have a few drinks and talk about what’s going on with people from across the WA industry.

Although it got off to a slow-ish start (we thought we were late; we were the first ones there!) things picked up as the evening was attended by a range of people from market research consultancies, fieldwork suppliers and those with some engagement in the industry.

Have a great Xmas everyone and a Happy New Year!

A Very Belated Melbourne Cup Post

November 30th, 2012

Painted Dog spent a lovely afternoon at BamBOO for Melbourne Cup Day. We’ve only just seen the photos of the day that they put up on the site – there are some nice ones of us!

7 Painted Dogs, early on during a day out when we all still looked neat.

Some more Painted Dogs, this time in the sun!

Matt, Michelle, Sarah & Kristy

We did win a few things, including two free drinks for getting the horse that ran last in the sweeps!

The Brightest Minds Marketing Panel at Curtin University

November 13th, 2012

Painted Dog was fortunate enough to be invited to see Curtin University’s Marketing Panel 2012 event in action, hosted by OMD.

The panel was made up of (from right to left):

  • Michael Beach, Deputy Editor, The West Australian
  • Adam Elliot, Director of National Sales, Channel 7
  • Linda Wayman, General Manager, Southern Cross Austereo, Perth
  • Paul Fisher, CEO, IAB Australia
  • Nigel de Bussy, Head of the School of Marketing, Curtin Business School
  • (With his back to us) Adam Marshall, Managing Director, OMD

It's people sitting on a stage. Given it is a Friday, everyone was pretty relaxed.

It was an interesting discussion that was somewhat captured in tweets – you can see some of them here (but given the hashtag #brightminds, this might also throw up a page of irrelevant tweets too depending how outdated this post is by the  time you click on it!).
