The Big Morning Tea at PD

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

Painted Dog took part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, a Cancer Council charity event that raises money for anti-cancer research. The more culinary-bent in the office all provided plates filled with some absolutely delicious treats – everyone is now stuffed! Here’s just a few pictures of what was on offer:

Smoked Salmon Blinis

Rocky Road

Pork Sausage Rolls

Portugese Custard Tarts

Vanilla and Lemon Curd Cupcakes (with a lemon curd centre!)

Chocolate Cake

Onion and Feta Tarts

Lemon Curd Friands

We felt the need to eat one (or two, sometimes three) of everything just to try it. So full!

Bankwest’s Happiness, Heart Foundation’s LiveLighter and HBF’s Travel Insurance

Wednesday, July 4th, 2012

There have been a few articles out recently linked to work we’ve done on behalf of clients.

Bankwest’s Happiness survey had several articles written about it, including these:

State among world’s most positive

Being happy is a serious business

WA, a State of contentedness

Tradies, regional workers all smiles

The Heart Foundation’s LiveLighter campaign has also attracted more attention, this time with a wrap-around front cover on The Weekend West. It was very attention grabbing!

HBF has also been conducting research on the proportion of people who get travel insurance, especially to “safe” locations such as Bali where holidayers let their hair down and are more likely to engage in some unsafe practises.

LiveLighter Goes Live!

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

Painted Dog assisted the Heart Foundation in its development of the new LiveLighter health campaign.

You can see the launch ads below:

LiveLighter – Toxic Fat (30 sec)

LiveLighter – Unhealthy Snacks (15 sec)

LiveLighter – Walk to the Shops (15 sec)

It’s a campaign that has attracted a fair amount of attention, including in the US!

A Painted Dog Health Check-Up

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

… no, not us! The puppies!

Perth Zoo’s Painted Dog puppies have had their first health check-up. It’s an important thing that the pups are healthy (and they are!) given that Painted Dogs are endangered in the wild.

Watch the video at the end of that article – so cute!

Painted Dog, Young People and Alcohol

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Painted Dog recently had the privilege of conducting research among young Western Australians aged 14 to 17 years on behalf of Michelle Scott, the Commissioner for Children and Young People. We explored young people’s views on alcohol and the harm it can cause to both individuals and the community.

The complex and delicate research was able to bring young people themselves into the debate around teen drinking and identified those strategies most likely to change risky behaviour. This project also provided an opportunity to utilise new and innovative qualitative techniques specific to children and young people. Michelle Scott recently wrote about the outcomes of the research – you can see her opinion piece here on the CCYP site.

Painted Dogs Born at Perth Zoo

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Just to compliment the news of all the new Painted Dogs here in the office, the African Painted Dogs at the Perth Zoo have given birth to 9 puppies.

The African Painted Dog is endangered as a species, so every birth is potentially very important. And worth celebrating!

Painted Dogs Run For A Reason

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Painted Dog people were some of the 10 450 who ran in the 2010 HBF Run For A Reason on Sunday May 23. Most went for the 4.5km walk, but congrats to Justin who did the 14.5km run in just over an hour!
